FRIENDS OF ACES TENNIS

Friends of Aces Tennis is a concept to bring group of people together, who through their generous donation and support to develop tennis in this part of the world, in the interest of the Nigerian children whom mostly come from modest homes. We shall, through this concept, raise funds to develop and promote tennis in this part of the world.

Under this concept, we are to raise funds to be able to continue with our numerous junior tennis championships, organise tennis clinics and also to build a team of young kids that shall grow to be world beaters. All these shall be done in order to encourage the Nigerian children to grow in the game and make career out of it like their counterparts in the other side of the world.

PURPOSE OF THIS CONCEPT - OUR MISSION

The country Nigeria has a large population with a considerable amount of natural sporting talents. And whenever Nigeria has been able to develop this reservoir of talents, the country has excelled on the international scene in that particular discipline. However, at Aces Tennis, we believe that in tennis, the immense potential of Nigerian children is still a long way from being fully developed.

The sport of tennis in Nigeria has suffered a much more severe degree. This is because by its very nature the success of tennis is much more dependent on the organization and administration of coaching, training, competitions and other events. While this responsibility has traditionally been left to Government-funded statutory bodies, at Aces we believe that there is an important supportive role to be played by private individuals and private sector organisations. An important part of our mission is to discover and develop young local talents into tennis players of international caliber.

Aces contribution to this effort is the birth of this concept of FRIENDS OF TENNIS which shall focused on organizing tennis championships, to develop a team that shall be given exposure to grow like their counter parts in the other side of the world, and having already successfully organized a number of such championships, we discover that our Friends of Tennis shall truncate the interest and development of the game among the young ones.

SCOPE OF WORK
• Tennis Championships and Clinics shall be organised periodically.
• From the tennis clinics and championships, players shall be invited to the FRIENDS OF TENNIS CAMP,
• They shall be train for a period of two weeks.
• Trial matches shall be organised after the training scheme.
• A team shall be selected to form the ACES TENNIS TEAM.
• They shall be training under the tutelage of Aces Tennis.
• All team members MUST be attending schools
• The team may be register in one school for easy monitoring.
• Periodic trials shall be organised for this team to keep monitoring their progress in the team.

• The players shall be in the team for a period of one year before any players can be “retire” from the team due to non-performance.
• They shall be exposed to many and different championships of their age category both locally and internationally in order to improve their ranking and achieve the mission of the FRIENDS OF TENNIS CONCEPT;- Discovering Champions And Helping The Players To Grow In Their Tennis Game.
• Funds shall be periodically source for from corporate and private individuals for the team to continue to have funds to get equipments and play as many championships as possible.

ACCOUNTABILITY
• Periodic details of all expenses shall be given to the Friends of Aces Tennis
• Periodic details of Aces Tennis Team shall be given to the Friends of Aces Tennis

• Your support and name shall be on our website in the friends of tennis column
• At the end of every year, we want to be celebrating our champions through this programme, you shall be invited to meet and our champions shall dine together with you.
• You shall also have that inner joy and conviction that you are contributing to make the life of the younger ones better for tomorrow
• Prizes shall be branded for the sponsors
• Players shall always have the logo of sponsors on their shirts and luggage at any championships

OUR BACKGOUND
Aces tennis was formed in 1995 and got registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 1999. The organisation was established to develop and promote tennis in this part of the world and have on many occasions worked on part time with the Nigerian Tennis Federation in some developmental programmes. We have also organised series of junior championships which many Nigerian players who are ‘raving’ today have gone through; even our championships gave many of them the exposure for discovery.
