The Grandslam for a tennis player is winning all four of the major singles title- The Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and U S Open - in the same year. The first man to win the grandslam was Don Budge (US) in 1938. The first man to achieve the grandslam twice was Rodney Goerge 'ROD' Laver (Australia) as an amateur in 1962 and again in 1969 when the titles were open to professionals.
